Social Responsibility
Social responsibility is, and always has been, an extremely important factor to all at Glasdon. We have been actively supporting the communities we operate in and contributing to worthy causes from the outset, with the full support of our Chairman and Board of Directors.
Our charitable giving journey has evolved since our Company first launched. We spent many years making donations to worthy causes before officially forming our Charitable Giving Committee in 2003. Since then we have donated to countless charities, organisations and community groups, before pledging to do more with the launch of the DJ Sidebottom / Glasdon Charitable Programme in 2021.

The DJ Sidebottom / Glasdon Charitable Programme
As part of our efforts to be a socially responsible company, we play an active part in supporting the communities in which we operate. The DJ Sidebottom / Glasdon Charitable Programme, formerly known as the Glasdon Charitable Giving Committee, is just one of the ways we aim to do this. We support charities, community groups and other organisations that are aligned with our goals and vision as can be seen in our mission statement. We supply grants to these worthwhile causes in the format of monetary donations, product gifting, sponsorships and fundraising, depending on the needs and requirements of each organisation.
Our dedicated team is made up of a board of charitable programme managers who are all passionate about social responsibility and giving back to the community. We meet bi-monthly to consider which activities we wish to support. These activities are funded by Glasdon Group Limited, with the full support of our Founder and Chairman, Donald J Sidebottom MBE, FCIHT and the Board of Directors.
Glasdon Employee Events & Fundraising Activities
Our employees are also active volunteers and fundraisers. We aim to encourage our staff in these endeavours and will always support any member of staff who wishes to undertake personal challenges for charity.
As part of our commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility, we also offer all staff members the opportunity to have one day per year, paid, where they can undertake volunteer work for a local charity. These “away days” ensure staff are able to experience volunteering for various local projects they are passionate about and help support the local community. Examples of initiatives staff will be getting involved with include; tree planting, beach and river cleans, leaky dam building, river sampling and wildlife surveys, and we encourage everyone to get involved who is committed to this area of conservation.
