Another year of support for an organisation dedicated to helping Blackpool’s most in need.
Comfort C.A.F.E. works towards reducing poverty in the Blackpool Council area by providing, through a weekly drop-in session, a meal, food supplies, guidance and knowledge to adults aged 18 or over. Additionally, they aim to promote the social inclusion of those who have faced marginalisation due to their economic circumstances.
According to the organisation, the local area they serve in Blackpool is among the most underprivileged, with a significant number of residents facing mental health challenges and difficulties making ends meet while residing in substandard housing and paying high utility costs. With rising costs, many rely on soup kitchens and facilities like Comfort C.A.F.E to eat.
In 2022, the organisation successfully ran the ‘Food Tomorrow’ project to provide more substantial non-perishable items for people to take away at the end of a session. This project was made possible through funding from the Department of Work and Pensions, Blackpool Council and The DJ Sidebottom / Glasdon Charitable Programme.
The DJ Sidebottom / Glasdon Charitable Programme is pleased to announce that it will continue its support of the ‘Food Tomorrow’ project to ensure food can be given to those over the winter months.
The DJ Sidebottom/Glasdon Charitable Programme provides support for charities and community projects with donations, grants and fundraising initiatives. All activities are funded by Glasdon Group Limited, with the full support of our Founder and Chairman, Donald J Sidebottom MBE, FCIHT and the Board of Directors. Applications for grants and support can be made on our page.
