Dillon Byrne April Update

April was another tough month with 2 UCI 1.2 races in Holland. Both races provided me with a good experience of riding the echelons. The wind was very strong and the landscape exposed resulting in the races splitting very early on.

We also had an I Inter club, which was a hilly race, I felt like I had good legs and was in all the early moves, then at the foot of the first cobbled climbs, everyone jumped off, and with nowhere to go, I hit a bush and went straight over my bars! Luckily I’m ok with nothing broken.

Towards the end of the month I got a good 10th place finish in a race called Wortegem. It was another hilly race and I was in the breakaway most of the race and picked up some of the sprint prizes.

The first week of May there are two bit, hilly UCI 1.2 races, Vlaamse Ardennen and Flèche Ardennaise, I expect both will be hard races.
