La Trobe University in Melbourne Australia are aiming to become a leading sustainable university. Recycling is a key aspect of their sustainability plans, with objectives to increase recycling rates, reduce the quantity of waste sent to landfill and to reduce their use of paper and plastic bottles.
To achieve these recycling goals, La Trobe sought to upgrade their internal recycling containers. RUD, one of our Australian distributors, provided the university with Glasdon Nexus® recycling containers. The Nexus® 100 recycling containers have been strategically positioned where waste volume is high, while the coordinated more compact Nexus® 50 recycling containers are situated where less waste is collected.
The university chose to use a combination of general waste and co-mingled recycling bins for mixed recyclable items which are common around university campuses such as coffee cups and plastic bottles.
Choosing the right recycling waste container for your site can depend on a range of things; expected waste capacity, matching style to surroundings, waste streams required, and signposting...
