The 2014 International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) World Championships were held in Minsk, the capital of Belarus, from 9-25 May. Though the hosts made the knockout stages for the first time since 2009, they were defeated by Sweden, and Russia ultimately captured the Gold medal position without losing a single game. A total attendance of more than 640,000 people set an all-time record for the Championship, which is in its 78th year.
Since Belarusian independence twenty years ago, Minsk has grown rapidly into an important eastern European capital city. As part of the preparations for the Championships, the city arranged for local businesses to sponsor new litter bins to be placed around Minsk.
Working with our Belarusian distributor, the City chose the Glasdon Mini Neopolitan™ Litter Bin. Mini Neopolitan's compact, slimline design makes it perfect for busy streets. The bin features the Glasdon keyless locking system to make emptying quick and easy without the need for operatives to carry keys.
